15 suspects arrested with three truckloads of solid radioactive minerals in Kaduna, Nigeria

Fifteen male suspects have been arrested by operatives of Nigeria's Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for alleged involvement in illegal dealing wth radioactive solid minerals. This is according to the local online outlet, PM News Nigeria.

According to the statement released by spokesperson Dele Oyewale on Tuesday 10 March, the suspects and their three trucks carrying the radioactive loads were intercepted and arrested on Sunday, 8 March, along Suleja-Maji Road in Kaduna, northern Nigeria.

The statement indicated that the suspects were transporting the materials to several locations across Nigeria for an undisclosed purpose.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission said the suspects are currently undergoing further investigations and will soon be charged in court.
