2nd Battalion Kolkata of Indian NDRF conduct chemical emergency exercise
The 2nd Battalion Kolkata of India's National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have conducted a district-level mock chemical emergency exercise at Grasim Industries Ltd, Kharagpur, West Bengal, to enhance preparedness and coordination for industrial chemical incidents.
An announcement on X noted active participation from the district administration, fire and emergency services, civil defence, motor vehicles department and Grasim Industries Ltd staff, all of whom "strengthened inter-agency coordination and reaffirmed the NDRF's leading role in chemical emergency preparedness".
On 12 February, 2nd Battalion Kolkata also participated in two exercises on the same day at Indian Oil Corporation Bottling Plant in Budge Budge, a suburb of Kolkata, as well as at Gopalpur Industrial Hub.
