Classified intelligence reveals Chinese CBRN training programme for Russian soldiers
Highly classified intelligence documents have revealed that Russia's Ministry of Defence secretly approved a military training programme operated by the Chinese People's Liberation Army inside Beijing, directly involving high-ranking generals from both superpowers in late 2025.
Numerous outlet have reported that the covert operations, which were personally authorised by the Russian defence minister Andrei Belousov, exposed Russian combat forces to advanced Chinese instruction CBRN warfare.
United 24 Media reported that, in November 2025, around 200 Russian military personnel attended a three-week session in Beijing focused on "chemical reconnaissance", "radiation reconnaissance" and shielding ventilation systems from contamination. Intelligence officials told Reuters that multiple participants from these sessions have since been deployed directly to the war in Ukraine.
Photographic evidence contained within the leaked dossiers depicts Russian personnel receiving instruction from Chinese specialists on securing ventilation systems against contamination and navigating models of nuclear reactors.
