Dutch CBRN, EOD teams respond to hazmat discovery in shed
Dutch police were deployed to the small hamlet of Langeweg in the Netherlands' on Monday morning, 9 March, after a suspected hazardous substance was found in a small shed.
Local outlet BN De Stem reported that EOD and CBRN units responded to assess the situation. Reports suggested that the material in question may have been acid, although this was not confirmed by police.
Emergency services had initially responded after receiving a report of a burglary, attempted burglary or otherwise suspicious situation. It was reported that several tools were found near a wire fence that had been cut open on the property where the substance was found.
Burglaries or attempted burglaries have also reportedly occurred at other buildings in the area, however these are not linked to the hazardous materials investigation.
