A team from 15th battalion of India's National Disaster Response Force has conducted a CBRN mock exercise at a site belonging to India Glycols Limited in Kashipur, Uttarakhand state, northern India.

The scenario was based around a chemical industrial emergency, namely a hydrogen cylinder leak. According to a post on social media on 24 January, the drill "aimed to enhance preparedness, response capability, smooth coordination, quick decision-making and safety measures. During the exercise, two workers were rendered unconscious due to the simulated leak."

"The emergency response was activated, the area was secured and marked and rescue teams carried out swift evacuation — shifting the victims to a safe zone for medical care and follow-up actions."

The 15th battalion's X account describes the team as "elite rescuers from the Himalayas" and "masters of high-altitude ops, flood and quake rescues".
