Pendar proximate chemical agency detector achieves US milestone C, enters full rate production
The United States' Joint Project Manager for CBRN Integrated Early Warning, part of the Capability Program Executive for CBRN Defense, has announced that their proximate chemical agent detector has achieved milestone C in its development, thereby receiving formal approval to enter into full rate production.
The proximate chemical agency detector is a handheld capability that identifies chemical threats at a standoff distance. The Capability Program Executive announced on social media that the decision is "one step closer to getting the [detector] into warfighters' hands".
The detector is being developed with Pendar Technologies, a company based in Cambridge, MA.
