Radiation Emergency Safety Tactics announces Utah Fire Marshal Office as latest client
The American CBRN training company, Radiation Emergency Safety Tactics (REST), has announced the Utah State Fire Marshal Office as their latest client.
In a post on LinkedIn, REST announced that they will be providing an eight-hour version of their radiological and nuclear emergency operations course to firefighters across the state of Utah, from 16-22 March.
"We greatly appreciate and are honoured by Utah’s trust and business," wrote Christopher Scheil, president and owner of REST. "We recognise that not every agency or entity can afford the overtime and backfill associated with a full day’s training, so we also offer this course in a four-hour version, allowing us to provide this amazing experience to on-duty personnel at multiple locations to help reduce costs."
"If the State of Utah trusts us to train their firefighters, I’m sure your agency can," he concluded. Utah firefighters interested in attending these courses should contact the Utah State Fire Marshal’s Office for dates, locations and registration.
According to their website, REST is a small business owned by a service-disabled veteran, providing expert level training to first responder agencies and healthcare systems throughout the USA in the field weapons of mass destruction and hazardous materials emergencies. The training has an emphasis on radioactive and nuclear weapons detection systems and personal safety actions while operating in a radioactive environment.
Their target audience includes law enforcement, fire services, emergency medical services, military units, healthcare patient care staff and administrators, and community emergency planners.
