The Business Research Company has released their 2026 market report on CBRNE threat detection instruments, predicting large industry growth over the next five years.

The report found that the CBRNE threat detection instrument market size reached $2.73 billion in 2025 and is expected to grow to $4.51 billion by 2030 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10.5 percent. It estimated that the market will grow to $3.03 billion in 2026.

The report found that future growth would be driven by "multi-threat, real-time and networked CBRNE detection systems, integration with artificial intelligence and data analytics for predictive threat assessment, rising demand from industrial, transportation and public safety sectors, emphasis on compact, lightweight and user-friendly instruments, expansion of maintenance, calibration, training and consulting services for operational readiness".

Major trends in the threat detection market will include the miniaturisation of multi-threat detection instruments, an increased demand for integrated CBRNE detection suites, a shift toward rugged, field-deployable analytical platforms, growing outsourcing of calibration and maintenance services, and rising adoption of real-time monitoring in industrial environments, the report said.

North America was the largest region in 2025 while the Asia-Pacific is expected to be the world's the fastest growing region in the forecast period.
