United States and Republic of Korea marines have conducted a bilateral weapons of mass destruction (WMD) response training as part of the Korean Marine Exchange Program 26.1 at Pohang, South Korea.

A gallery of photos published by the US Defense Visual Information Distribution Service showed personnel from the CBRN Defense Platoon, Combat Logistics Regiment 37, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, conducting a range of CBRN and counter-explosives operations.

These including planning manoeuvres, breaching buildings, searching for, engaging and capturing simulated hostile forces, scanning for unexploded ordnance, diffusing IEDs and collecting samples of chemical, biological and radiological contaminants.

The Korean Marine Exchange Program 26.1 "enhances interoperability and strengthens the alliance between US and ROK Marines", according to DVIDS. The full gallery of images taken on 18 March can be viewed here.
