US Marines conduct CBRN and EOD training at Camp Pendleton
US marines in the Headquarters and Service Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, 1st Explosive Ordnance Disposal Company and 7th Engineer Support Battalion conducted combined CBRN and explosive ordnance disposal training on 22 January 2026 at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California.
According to the US Defense Visual Information Distribution Service, the training "enhanced unit readiness by exercising detection and assessment procedures in a simulated operational environment".
More specifically, marines conducted sensitive site exploitation, used detection devices to identify and confirm the presence of chemical warfare agents, ensured that hazardous items were properly sealed in leak seal packs before transport, and conducted decontamination procedures. A "Man Transportable Robotic System" was also involved in the training.
