Avon FM53 mask, breathing apparatus spotted in Polish GROM CBRN exercise
Avon Protection's ST54 "Enhanced Multi-Mission Tactical Operator" self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) combined with their FM53 gas mask were spotted in a CBRN exercise conducted by the GROM special operations unit of the Polish Armed Forces.
The images were published by NATO's Allied Special Operations Forces Command on X on Saturday 11 April.
Suitable for military, special operations and first responders, the ST54 SCBA is "the base to a multi-mission respiratory protection system which provides for operational flexibility to the operator and mission commanders in the field to tailor the PPE response based on the available intelligence", according to Avon Protection. "Depending on the threat or operational situation at the scene of an incident, the ST54 SCBA can be configured to provide the appropriate protection."
Meanwhile, the FM53 "Multiple Mission Mask" is "globally acclaimed as the most technically advanced mask", and was developed to address "multiple threats encountered on the modern battlefield, war on terrorism and peace keeping operations". It also provides protection against traditional chemical and biological warfare agents and select toxic industrial materials.
