A leak of di-methyl sulphate at a pharmaceutical facility in Boisar, Maharashtra, India, led to 22 workers being hospitalised on Sunday, 22 March.

According to Devdiscourse, the incident in Tarapur MIDC occurred during a transfer process. Although a minor overflow from the tanker's vent line was immediately plugged, the fumes from the subsequent decontamination affected several workers, leading to their hospitalisation at Adhikari Lifeline Multispecialty Hospital.

Officials assured that the situation was brought under control, with all individuals stable and no threat to the surrounding area. An investigation into the incident has been launched.
