Dresden school evacuated after CBRN incident, three people hospitalised

A vocational school in the German city of Dresden was evacuated on Thursday afternoon, 9 April, after several people complained of sudden illness including coughing and vomiting.

The building was subsequently evacuated and fifteen people were examined at the scene by paramedics. Three people were taken to hospital.

A total of 90 emergency services personnel were dispatched to the school complex in the Johannstadt district of Dresden, where several fire crews wearing breathing apparatus entered to determine the cause of the complaints.

The local outlet sächsische.de reported that no abnormalities had been detected in initial investigations, which continued further into the afternoon. The cause of the incident remains unclear.
