Several IEDs, illicit drugs and drug paraphernalia were discovered during a traffic stop in North Carolina on Friday, 17 April.

According to WACB, deputies with the Alexander County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop on a black Ford Mustang on highway 64 after observing erratic driving. The driver, 58-year-old Christopher Scott Thompson, was determined to have been driving on a suspended license and was arrested.

A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of several improvised explosive devices, which the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation bomb squad safely secured without incident. An additional search of the vehicle uncovered methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a firearm.
