Ukraine reports 1,556 injured by landmines, ERWs since Russia's full-scale invasion

Ukraine's Main Department of Mine Action, Civil Protection and Environmental Safety has reported that, as of 1 June 2026, since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022, 1,556 people have been injured by landmines and explosive remnants of war.

164 of those affected have been children, while the remaining 1,392 people are adults. The most affected profession is farmers, of which 287 have been injured, as well as the unemployed (193), pensioners (156), students (156), critical infrastructure works (152) and drivers (97).

In a post on Telegram, the directorate noted that Ukrainian law enforcement agencies are opening criminal proceedings regarding the violation of the rules and customs of warfare by Russia for each explosion among the Ukrainian civilian population by Russian mines.
