The Central Reserve Police Force in Chhattisgarh, India, discovered eight hidden Naxal munition dumps extensive search operation in the dense forests of Adri, Harra and Madumpara villages.
According to reports published on ETV Bharat on Saturday 13 June, materials recovered from the dump included a barrel grenade launcher rifle, an 8 mm rifle, a 12-bore rifle, 21 IEDs and IED-making materials such as cordex wire, safety fuses, electric wires, air gun rounds and various electronic devices.
Fifty-eight different types of items, including clothes used by Naxals, were seized. Officials said the recovery, which was conducted acting on intelligence inputs, foiled a "major Naxal conspiracy".
ETV Bharat wrote that the areas around Adri, Harra and Madumpara have traditionally been considered highly sensitive due to Naxal activity.
The Naxalites have staged a low-level insurgency against the Indian government as far back as the 1960s, with its peak occurring in the 2000s. In October 2025, the Indian government declared that only three districts were most affected by Naxalite insurgents, down from the previous total of six in March. The most affected districts were named as Bijapur, Sukma and Narayanpur, all in the south of Chhattisgarh.
