Philippines and Guam conduct joint hazmat, CBRNE response training
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Guam National Guard conducted a hazardous materials and CBRNE event management training from 27-31 May 2026 at Naval Station Leovigildo Gantioqui, San Antonio, Zambales, north west of the Filipino capital, Manila.
Conducted under the state partnership programme, the training gathered regular and reserve personnel from the Philippine army, navy, and air force for an "intensive learning experience that combined classroom instruction with hands-on practical exercises", according to a Facebook post.

"Participants gained valuable knowledge in emergency communications, active shooter response, medical evacuation procedures, biological and radiological threat management, and incident command and coordination. Through realistic simulations and scenario-based activities, trainees sharpened their skills in risk assessment, operational planning, interagency coordination and emergency response while operating in complex and high-pressure environments.
"Beyond developing technical expertise, the training reinforced the longstanding partnership between the AFP and the Guam National Guard, promoting greater interoperability, collaboration and mutual understanding. Together, both organisations continue to build a more capable and resilient force ready to respond to emerging threats and safeguard communities."
